What Being Named a Forbes 2019 Cloud 100 Rising Star Means to Me

LogDNA is now Mezmo but the product you know and love is here to stay.
Earlier today, LogDNA was named a Rising Star in connection with the Forbes 2019 Cloud 100 list. The list, which is published annually by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures, is their assessment of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world.
Wow. It’s incredible to write that.
As a company, we rightfully spend most of our time talking about how developers and DevOps can benefit from our technology. We are passionate about our technology and the people using it because we are part of the same communities. But, today, I get to spotlight the business side of the house too.
We began our LogDNA journey because the available log management solutions couldn’t meet our needs in speed or scale. We were fortunate that the timing matched right when Kubernetes was taking off. Being built on Kubernetes and being able to deploy on it with only two lines of code has set LogDNA apart from legacy solutions. And, because we initially developed for ourselves, we took special care to make sure using LogDNA was intuitive. That was in 2016. Since then, more than 2,500 customers have agreed that intuitive log management that is super-fast at scale is exactly what the industry needed.
As thrilled as I am that LogDNA was honored a Rising Star, it’s even more exciting when you consider that in past years many of the Rising Stars have gone on to join the ranks of the global top 100 list. This honor speaks to the trajectory of our company, as well as the hard work that has gone into getting us set on this course. We would be nothing without our whole team from engineering to the business side. Everyone contributes. And, on a personal note, I would be nothing without my business partner of three companies. Lee Liu is a brilliant technologist and the best partner I could ever have.
